Arif Maulana is currently a Doctoral Student at the Wellcome Sanger Institute, engaged in a 4-year PhD program focused on evolutionary genomics at Darwin College, University of Cambridge. Additionally, Arif serves as the Biological Safety Committee PhD Representative, providing oversight and advice on GM activity risk assessments. Prior experience includes positions as a Chair at the Indonesian Society for Evolutionary Studies and Research Intern at INRAE, along with various research roles, including visiting researcher at Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich and guest researcher at the Museum für Naturkunde Berlin. Arif's academic background encompasses multiple master's degrees and a bachelor's degree in Biology from IPB University, with research interests in speciation, adaptive radiation, and biodiversity.
