Ekin Bolukbasi

Ekin Bolukbasi currently serves as the Technology and Data Prizes Manager for the Data for Science and Health initiative at Wellcome Trust, a position held since August 2017, where responsibilities include pioneering funding mechanisms focused on mental health and genomics, while managing complex projects with multimillion-pound budgets. Prior experience at Wellcome Trust includes the role of Science Portfolio Manager for Clinical and Physiological Sciences, overseeing Africa and Asia Programmes aimed at addressing disease burdens with substantial funding. Ekin's academic background includes a PhD in Cell Biology from the University of Edinburgh, where research concentrated on insulin signalling and gene expression, and a BSc with honors in Biological Sciences from the same institution. Additionally, Ekin has completed the International Baccalaureate Diploma at École Nouvelle de la Suisse Romande in Switzerland.
