Emily Muller

Emily Muller is a Machine Learning Engineer at Wellcome Trust since July 2023, focusing on impact evaluation and decision-making tools for the funding portfolio utilizing data science and machine learning. In addition to this role, Emily serves as the Chair of the Deep Learning Indaba 2024 and has a strong academic background with a PhD in Computer Vision and Urban Health from Imperial College London. Research experience includes urban development dynamics during a PhD candidacy, a Research Assistant position in Global Environmental Health, and internships at Accenture AI and CSIR, where Emily worked on projects involving synthetic data generation and mathematical modeling. Emily's education also includes a Master’s degree in Applied Mathematics from the African Institute for Mathematical Sciences and a Bachelor’s degree in Applied Mathematics from the University of Southampton.
