Katie Anastasi-Frankovics

Katie leads the Translation and Portfolio integration Team, providing expertise on translation across Wellcome and providing a view of Wellcome’s work as a single, linked portfolio.

The Translation and Portfolio Integration Team provides translational expertise across the Wellcome translational portfolio and leads on cross-portfolio programmes (including Wellcome’s Snakebite programme and Wellcome’s major international programmes). The team is also responsible for portfolio integration – including analysing Wellcome’s portfolio of activities from a number of different viewpoints to give insight into Wellcome’s progress towards its strategic goals.

Katie joined Wellcome in 2011 as a lawyer, working on translational funding. She has since been involved with multiple projects and programmes in the Wellcome translational space – with a particular focus and interest in access to medicines and governance structures. Katie moved into a portfolio analysis role in Wellcome’s translational space in 2018 before taking over the Innovations funding division in 2019.

Katie studied Politics, Philosophy and Economics at Oxford University and worked in financial services prior to training as a lawyer and joining Wellcome.
