Sherene Thananjaya

Sherene Thananjaya is an accomplished professional with extensive experience in risk management and operations. Currently serving as an Enterprise Risk Senior Manager at Wellcome Trust since April 2023, Sherene previously held the role of Senior Manager at Dataminr from November 2021 to February 2023. Prior to this, Sherene was the Corporate Risk Lead at the Tony Blair Institute for Global Change from February 2019 to October 2021 and served as Operations and Security Manager at the Tony Blair Africa Governance Initiative from March 2015 to February 2019. Sherene began the career as Project Manager and Projects Coordinator at NSPCC from January 2013 to March 2015. Educationally, Sherene holds a Master of Science (MSc) degree in Globalisation and Development from SOAS University of London, completed in 2011.
