Alexis Crayton serves as a Research Assistant in the Biology Department at Wellesley College, where research focuses on the Exocyst protein complex and its role in polarized cell growth in saccharomyces pombe. Additionally, Alexis holds the position of Community Service Committee Chair for the Minority Association for Pre-Medical Students, coordinating volunteer events and community engagement for minority premedical students. Alexis acts as a METCO Mentor at Wellesley High School, leading classes and mentoring a group of high school girls from low-income backgrounds, and also provides academic tutoring to students ranging from elementary to high school in sciences and mathematics. As a member of the Aspire Program at Hathaway Brown School, Alexis transitioned from participant to mentor for middle school girls from low-income families. Previous involvement includes serving as an Executive Board Member and Co Community Service Coordinator for Ethos, where Alexis focused on promoting cultural diversity within the Wellesley College community. Alexis graduated from Wellesley College in 2017 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Biological Sciences and Chinese Language and Literature.
