Tara Murphy

Tara Murphy serves as the Vice President of Communications, Public Affairs, and Global Engagement and Chief Communications Officer at Wellesley College since June 2019, leading strategic communications for President Paula A. Johnson and managing media, internal communications, and digital strategy. Prior to this role, Tara served as Executive Vice President for Healthcare at Weber Shandwick from April 2006 to February 2019, where Tara built a $6 million healthcare communications practice. Additionally, Tara was a Senior Producer and Managing Editor at WBUR Boston, overseeing award-winning NPR news programs from March 2001 to April 2006, and held the position of Director of Public Affairs at the Corporation for National and Community Service from January 1998 to August 2000, handling all strategic communications for the agency. Educational qualifications include a Master of Public Policy from Harvard Kennedy School and a Bachelor of Arts in Biology and Literature from Hampshire College.
