Susan Beaton

Susan Beaton has over 25 years of work experience in the healthcare industry. Susan has held various leadership roles at Blue Cross Blue Shield of Nebraska, including Senior Director Nurse Care Management and Clinical Policy, Director of Health Care Delivery and Wellness, Director of Benefits, Medical Management Services, Manager of Product Benefit and Medical Policy, and Lead for Medical Management Teams Migration-Conversion to new claims payment system. In these roles, they were responsible for developing and implementing strategies for care management, utilization management, case management, and clinical policy teams. Susan also worked closely with other departments to deliver innovative health and care management programs. Prior to their time at Blue Cross Blue Shield of Nebraska, Susan worked as an RN in the Pediatric Critical Care and Trauma unit at Creighton St. Joe's. Currently, they are serving as the Vice President of Health Plan Strategy at Wellframe, where they focus on leveraging digital technology to improve and personalize the healthcare experience. Throughout their career, Susan has demonstrated expertise in transforming business practices to improve patient, member, and customer care while creating bottom-line benefits.

Susan Beaton completed their education in a variety of fields. Susan obtained a Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Health Care and Economics from Bellevue University between 2015 and 2018. In 2013, they earned a Black Belt in Lean from Six Sigma, and in 2011, a Green Belt in Lean from the same institution. In 2002, they completed a Certified Professional Coder program in Medical Coding at Iowa Western Community College. Susan also holds a certification as a Certified Pediatric Nurse Generalist from the National Certification Board of Pediatric Nurse Practitioners and Nurses, which they obtained in 1992. Lastly, they obtained a Bachelor's of Science in Nursing (RN BSN) from the University of Nebraska Medical Center between 1987 and 1991.
