Laura Dooney

Laura Dooney is an experienced communications professional with a background in journalism and media. Currently serving as the Senior Advisor Communications and Engagement at Wellington City Council since December 2022, Laura has previously held the position of Communications Advisor at the Sustainable Seas National Science Challenge from January to December 2022. Laura's extensive experience includes roles as Journalist and Senior Producer at Radio New Zealand from October 2017 to January 2022, Education Reporter at the Dominion Post under Fairfax Media NZ from January 2016 to October 2017, and Journalist at NewstalkZB from January 2012 to January 2016. Laura holds a Post Graduate Diploma in Journalism from Auckland University of Technology.
