Brad Bartle

As the company’s vice president and chief actuary, Brad Bartle leads Wellmark’s actuarial functions, supporting key pricing and financial decisions, understanding medical trend and drivers of benefit expense, calculating key reserves, and working closely with regulators.

Prior to joining Wellmark, Bartle was with ChenMed, a primary care provider focused on seniors with locations in 14 states. He has also been in leadership roles at provider-owned health insurers and spent 12 years at Blue Cross Blue Shield of North Dakota — with most of that time as Chief Actuary.

Bartle holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in mathematics from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and a Master of Business Administration from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois. In addition, he is a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries and a member of the American Academy of Actuaries.
