Naim Manir

Dr. Naim Munir directs the staff and programs of Wellmark's clinical operations, including the company's appeals, care management, medical policy and medical director teams. Dr. Munir works closely with the health care providers in Wellmark's network to evaluate developments in medical care and make recommendations for covering new practices and procedures, to ensure the cost-effective delivery of quality care. Dr. Munir also advises Wellmark leadership and employees on matters of public health importance, as well as medical and pharmacy trends. This work ensures Wellmark members receive the most effective, quality care — when and where they need it.

Dr. Munir holds a bachelor's degree from the University of Illinois at Chicago and a Doctor of Medicine degree from Rush Medical College in Chicago. He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Family Medicine and a Fellow of the American Academy of Family Physicians. In addition, he is an accomplished speaker, regularly selected to serve on committees and boards throughout his career in an effort to improve the health care system and demonstrates the value of lifelong learning as evidenced by examples that include participation in the Wharton Executive Development Program, IDEO University's Insights for Design Thinking Innovation, and most recently achieving certification in Accelerated Implementation Methodology.
