Ilene Marquardt

Assistant General Counsel, Wells Fargo Advisors at Wells Fargo

Ilene Marquardt is assistant general counsel for Wells Fargo Advisors. In this role, she leads a team of attorneys and other professionals who provide legal advice and counseling for the sales channels, services, and operations of the company. She also sits on the Wells Fargo Advisors Operating Committee.

Ilene has been an attorney in the securities industry for more than 30 years. Before joining as counsel for Wells Fargo Advisors in 2019, she spent more than 24 years at UBS, where she held multiple roles, including head of litigation and regulatory, and interim general counsel in UBS’s Wealth Management USA division. Early in her career, she was a litigation associate at Morgan, Lewis & Bockius in New York City.

Ilene earned a bachelor’s degree from Northwestern University and a juris doctorate from New York University School of Law. She is chair of FINRA’s National Adjudicatory Council, serves on SIFMA’s Compliance and Legal Executive Committee, and is a member of both the New York and New Jersey bars. In 2018, she received the National Council of Jewish Women’s “Woman Who Dared” award, and previously was named to the New York YWCA’s “Academy of Women Leaders.”
