Zaro Kurbanbekova

Zaro Kurbanbekova is an experienced professional in the field of project management and partner consultancy with a strong focus on human rights and civil society strengthening. Currently serving as an Expert for Partner Consultancy and Accountability Focal Person at Welthungerhilfe since June 2016, Zaro has also held positions such as Head of Project/Partner Support Officer. Previous roles include Project Manager for DanChurchAid in Tajikistan, where the objective was to promote and protect the rights of Tajik migrant workers, and National Program Officer at Caritas Schweiz overseeing M&E for water projects. Zaro's career also features leadership roles in organizations like Counterpart Afghanistan, VSO, HelpAge International, Winrock International, and Counterpart International, where significant contributions were made to enhance citizen participation, community empowerment, and capacity building across various sectors. Zaro holds a Bachelor's degree in English Language from the State Pedagogical University in Dushanbe, Tajikistan.
