Michael Pietkiewicz has a diverse work experience in various leadership roles. Michael started their career in 1993 as a Staff Assistant to Congressman Jack Quinn in the U.S. House of Representatives. Michael later became a Senior Legislative Assistant to the same Congressman before transitioning to the University at Buffalo (UB) in 1999. There, they served as the Director of Federal Affairs and later as the Assistant Vice President for Government Relations. In 2010, they were promoted to Assistant Vice President for Government and Community Relations, where they oversaw government lobbying efforts and community relationships. In 2014, they joined Erie Community College as the Senior Vice President of Operations, and later took on the role of Executive Vice President of Operations. Michael'sresponsibilities included overseeing operational efficiencies and working on fundraising strategies. Finally, in 2020, they became the Director of Project Development at WENDEL Companies.

Michael Pietkiewicz attended Canisius University from 1988 to 1992, where they obtained a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Political Science and History. Before that, between 1984 and 1988, Michael completed their NYS Regents Diploma at Cheektowaga Central High School. More recently, they pursued a Master of Business Administration (MBA) at the University at Buffalo from 2015 to 2017.
