Ioannis Skarlatakis

Engineering Manager at Wentworth Laboratories

Ioannis Skarlatakis has held a variety of engineering roles since 2008. Ioannis began their career as a Mechanical Designer at Technik System, where they designed and validated mechanical components for SPM through FEA simulation, and was trained to use CNC mill by Doosan MV4020 LS. In 2011, they moved on to become a Mechanical Designer at GOLDSTAR FABRICATIONS LTD., where they designed and estimated ergonomic commercial catering equipment. From 2012 to 2014, they pursued an MSc in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Leicester, completing their dissertation with a 79% grade. Ioannis then returned to Endoline Machinery Ltd as a Mechanical Design Engineer, where they designed concept and detailed solutions of semi and fully automatic packaging lines to agreed specifications. In 2018, they took a position as a Mechanical Design Engineer at Oasys Technologies Ltd, where they developed new concepts of special purpose machinery for the production of ISO cards & passports. Most recently, in 2019, they were appointed Engineering Manager at both Wentworth Laboratories and Endoline Machinery Ltd, where they led a multidisciplinary team of mechanical, electrical and automation engineers to deliver on-time custom design solutions and distribute technical information to relevant departments.

Ioannis Skarlatakis holds a Master of Science (MSc) in Advanced Mechanical Engineering from the University of Leicester, obtained in 2013. Ioannis also holds a Bachelor of Engineering (BEng) in Mechanical Engineering from the Technologiko Ekpaideutiko Idrima, Kavalas, obtained in 2009. Additionally, they hold an edX Verified Certificate for A Hands-on Introduction to Engineering Simulations from edX.
