Marlies de Groot

Marlies de Groot has extensive experience in financial management and oversight in the non-profit sector, currently serving as Controller for the Voices for Just Climate Action Alliance at WWF-Netherlands since June 2006, where financial oversight and reporting to donors are key responsibilities. Marlies has previously held positions such as International Finance Manager at WWF, focusing on proposal assessment, contract management, and capacity building for partner organizations. Additionally, Marlies is a Board Member and Treasurer of the Marieke Kloosterman Fonds since May 2016, which supports young women in understanding women's rights issues. Earlier roles include Senior Finance Officer at Cordaid and Administrator/Field Coordinator for Médecins Sans Frontières, among others. Marlies holds a Focusdiploma in management sciences centered on financial reporting and accounting from the Open Universiteit and a Bachelor's Degree in Business Economics and Communication from HU University of Applied Sciences Utrecht.
