Raymond Smit

Raymond Smit is a seasoned Sr. BI Consultant with extensive experience in business intelligence and data engineering, currently serving at the Ministerie van Defensie since October 2025. As an independent consultant at Run Ahead Consulting since January 2014, expertise includes SAP HANA, SAP Data Services, SAP Business Objects, and SAP BW. Previous roles include Sr. BI Consultant/Data Engineer positions at Enexis and Alliander, where significant contributions were made to BI consulting and data engineering projects. His notable experience at Ministery of Defense/IVENT involved leading a pilot and implementation project on the Business Objects BI Platform, including the migration of numerous reports and dashboards. Raymond has also served as Principal Consultant at Infosys Consulting and held key architectural roles at prestigious organizations such as Hitachi Construction Machinery and DSM, demonstrating a strong background in SAP BI solutions and architecture. Raymond holds a Doctorandus degree in Bestuurlijke Informatiekunde from Radboud University.
