Position Summary:

The VP of Finance will spearhead our financial strategy, optimize operational efficiency, and maintain compliance with regulatory standards. This role is crucial in supporting Weski's growth, ensuring financial health, and upholding our reputation in the travel-tech industry.

Responsibilities:

  • Financial Leadership: Oversee all financial operations, including accounting, financial reporting, treasury, equity management, tax planning, and internal controls.
  • Strategic Guidance: Provide strategic financial insights to support the company’s expansion and operational needs.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Manage global tax strategies and ensure adherence to all applicable financial and corporate regulations.
  • Legal and Financial Relationships: Serve as the primary liaison for banks, financial partners, tax authorities, auditors, and legal teams.
  • Budgeting and Forecasting: Lead long-range financial planning, annual budgets, and regular financial forecasts.
  • Team Management: Directly manage the finance team and the related external service providers.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Travel Regulations Compliance: Ensure compliance with travel industry financial protection schemes such as ATOL, ABTA, and ABTOT in the UK, and SGR in Europe. This includes submitting monthly reports, adhering to regulatory standards, and maintaining all necessary covenants.
  • Subsidiary Management: Oversee financial operations across multiple corporate entities, particularly in the UK and Netherlands, enhancing inter-company financial procedures and consolidation processes.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Minimum 8 years of experience, including at least 2 years in the finance team of a B2C technology company, and at least 2 years as a Director/VP Finance role in a technology company with $20m + in annual revenue (preferably B2C).
  • 2-4 years of experience with one of the Big 4 accounting firms.
  • Expert knowledge of US GAAP is essential.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting.
  • Excellent command of English, both written and spoken.
  • Proven experience in the travel-tech industry is highly desirable.
  • Exceptional problem-solving skills with a proactive "Yes we can" attitude.
  • Outstanding attention to detail and strong analytical abilities.
  • Operational focus, with a hands-on approach and a strong drive for business partnership and collaboration.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide data-driven insights for business decision-making.
  • Experience leading the financial close process and preparing financial statements.
  • Proficiency in optimizing finance operations, including Accounting, Accounts Payable, and Payroll processes.
  • Ability to devise and implement financial strategies to ensure the company's ongoing financial health.
  • Established infrastructure to support and drive the company’s growth.
