April Ruiz

April Ruiz currently serves as the Interim Vice President for Equity & Inclusion and the Dean for Academic Equity, Inclusion & Success at Wesleyan University since January 2021. Ruiz is also an Executive Committee Member of the FGLI Consortium since March 2019. Prior experience includes roles as Associate Dean of the College and Dean of Williams Firsts at Williams College from March 2018 to January 2021, and various positions at Yale University from 2009 to March 2018, including Residential College Dean at Grace Hopper College, Lecturer in Cognitive Science, and Dean of First-year Scholars. Ruiz holds a B.A. in Cognitive Science from Yale University and a Ph.D. in Psychology from the University of St Andrews.
