Sebastian Zimmeck

Sebastian Zimmeck is an accomplished academic and legal professional with a diverse background in computer science and law. Currently serving as an Associate Professor of Computer Science at Wesleyan University since July 2018, Zimmeck has also held the position of Assistant Professor of Computer Science at the same institution. In addition, Zimmeck is a Visiting Professor at Columbia University and acts as the Director of privacy-tech-lab. Previous experiences include roles as a Postdoctoral Associate and Visiting Researcher at Carnegie Mellon University, as well as a Google Research Fellow at the Berkeley Center for Law & Technology. Zimmeck's legal experience includes working as an Attorney at Law for Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer and as a Training Lawyer at the Appellate Court Celle. Educational qualifications include a PhD and MS in Computer Science from Columbia University and a Master of Laws from the University of California, Berkeley, alongside a Doctoral Degree of Law and a 1st Legal State Exam from Kiel University.
