Sylvia Richey

Chief Medical Officer at West Cancer Center

Dr. Sylvia Richey joined West Cancer Center as a Hematology Oncology specialists in January, 2005. Originally from Birmingham, AL, Dr. Richey graduated from Vanderbilt University, Nashville, TN and went on to complete her medical training at the University Of Alabama School Of Medicine, Birmingham, AL. She continued her Internship and Residency training in Internal Medicine at Baptist Medical Centers, Birmingham and completed her Fellowship in Medical Oncology at the University of Tennessee, Memphis, TN. Her fellowship training was augmented with additional specialized training at MD Anderson Cancer Center’s Breast Cancer Division- Houston. Dr. Richey is Board Certified in Medical Oncology. With a passion for her patients and commitment to provide the best cancer care available to each and every patient she treats, it comes as no surprise that she is beloved by patients and staff. In 2017, Dr. Richey was appointed Director of the Integrative Oncology Division. This program expands our patient services beyond medical care to address mind, body, and spirit. Dr. Richey is the Chief Medical Officer for West Cancer Center. She has successfully led and built our Integrative Oncology program and will now begin to lead our Clinical Practice Quality initiatives as well.
