Alison Makela

Alison Makela is an experienced educator with a robust background in leadership and instructional strategies. Currently serving as the Facilitator of Deeper Learning Initiatives for the West Contra Costa Unified School District since July 2012, Alison has also held the position of Principal at Madera Elementary School and served as an Instructional Specialist at Dover Elementary School. Prior experience includes a role as a Classroom Teacher, Math Coach, and Teacher on Special Assignment at Albany Unified School District from 2006 to 2010. Educational credentials include a Master's degree in Educational Leadership and Administration from the University of California, Berkeley, a Multiple Subject Credential from Dominican University, and a Bachelor's degree in International Relations from the University of California, Davis.
