Dr. Naffeesa L. M. has a diverse work experience in various roles within the field of social services. Dr. Naffeesa L. began their career as a Residential Advisor at Good Counsel in 2000 and later worked as a Youth Development Counselor at Good Shepherd Services. Dr. Naffeesa L. then served as a Program Supervisor at Seamen's Society for Children and Families, where they supervised a Treatment Family Foster Care program. In 2010, Dr. Naffeesa joined Sauti Yetu Center for African Women, Inc as a Site Director, managing programs for African immigrant communities and victims of human trafficking and violence against women. Dr. Naffeesa L. later became the Senior Director of Child Welfare and Domestic Violence Services at Arab-American Family Support Center. From 2018 to 2020, they worked as the Senior Director of Foster Care & Aftercare Programs at Child & Family. In 2021, they took up the role of Chief Program Operations Officer at St. Mary's Center for Women and Children/Crossroads Family Center. Currently, they hold the position of Chief Operating Officer at West End Neighborhood House.
Dr. Naffeesa L. M. holds a Doctor of Social Work degree from Simmons University, which they obtained between 2021 and 2023. Prior to that, they completed a Master of Science (M.S.) in NonProfit Leadership at Fordham University from 2016 to 2017. Dr. Naffeesa L. also holds a Master of Social Work (MSW) degree from City University of New York-Herbert H. Lehman College, earned from 2008 to 2010, and a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Social Work from City University of New York-College of Staten Island, attained from 2004 to 2008. In addition to their academic degrees, Dr. Naffeesa L. M. has obtained various certifications, including LCSW (Licensed Clinical Social Worker) from the Rhode Island Department of Health in 2018 and LMSW (Licensed Master Social Worker) from the New York State Education Department in 2012.
