Brooke Backlund

Brooke Backlund, CPHR, currently serves as the Regional Human Resources Manager at West Fraser since June 2015, overseeing HR functions across various Canadian divisions, including both union and non-union operations. In addition to this role, Brooke leads HR sustainability and diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives for the company across North America and Europe. Previous positions at West Fraser include Human Resources Superintendent and Coordinator, providing comprehensive HR support in multiple capacities. Prior to West Fraser, Brooke worked as a Certified Cosmetician and Front Store Supervisor at Shoppers Drug Mart and gained HR experience as a Student Consultant at Appnovation Technologies. Brooke holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from The University of British Columbia, as well as certificates in Human Resources Management and Business of Sawmilling from the British Columbia Institute of Technology, and has pursued continuous professional development through various organizations.
