Louw Durand

Louw Durand has extensive work experience in finance and management roles. Louw is currently the Director of Finance at West Fraser since 2022. Prior to this, they worked as a Finance Manager at Trafigura from 2020 to 2022. Louw has also worked at Rio Tinto in various finance roles, including Finance Business Partner, Financial Controller for Oyu Tolgoi, Principal Analyst in management reporting & analysis, and Financial & Compliance Manager for Southern & Central Africa. Before joining Rio Tinto, they worked as a Financial Manager at Wrigley in South Africa and the Middle East. Louw also has experience as a Commercial Manager at Steelfab and a Financial Manager at Keops Isis Industrial Information Systems.

Louw Durand's education history includes a Master of Commerce in Financial Management from the University of Pretoria, which was completed from 2004 to 2007. Prior to that, from 1997 to 2000, Durand studied Financial Management at The Chartered Institute of Management Accountants, earning the ACMA designation. In 1994, Durand obtained a B.Com(Hons) in Accounting Science from the University of Pretoria, and from 1990 to 1993, studied Accounting Science, earning a B.Com degree from the same university. Durand also holds additional certifications, including Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA, CMA) from the Chartered Professional Accountants of British Columbia, obtained in 2021, Chartered Accountant (ACA) from ICAEW, obtained in 2016, and Chartered Management Accountant (ACMA) from CIMA, obtained in 2001.
