Mark Cookson

Mark Cookson has extensive experience in the forestry sector, currently serving as the Woods Operations Manager for Western Canada at West Fraser since October 2012. Prior roles at West Fraser include Operations Manager of BC Woodlands, Woodlands Manager, and Operations Supervisor. Cookson’s career began at Weldwood, where responsibilities included Operations Supervisor, Planning Supervisor, and Silviculture Supervisor from 1999 to 2005. Educational credentials include a Bachelor of Science degree in Forest Management/Forest Resources Management from the University of Alberta, complemented by previous studies at the Northern Alberta Institute of Technology.
