Maya Mendez, MPH, MSW

Maya Mendez, MPH, MSW has a diverse range of work experiences. Maya is currently working as a Telehealth Program Manager at West Health. Prior to this, they worked as a Shield Emerging Leader at Blue Shield of California from July 2020 to December 2022. Before that, Maya served as a Disaster Recovery Specialist at J&M Global Solutions LLC from October 2018 to June 2020. Maya also worked as a Medical Social Worker at UCSF Benioff Children's Hospital Oakland from September 2014 to July 2017. Maya gained experience as an MSW Intern at La Clinica de La Raza from September 2013 to June 2014 and at Rosa Parks Elementary Family Resource Center from September 2012 to June 2013. Their early career included serving as a Program Coordinator at the Institute of Women and Ethnic Studies from May 2011 to August 2012.

Maya Mendez, MPH, MSW has a diverse education history. Maya pursued their Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Sociology and French at Tulane University from 2007 to 2010. Afterwards, they attended the University of California, Berkeley from 2012 to 2014, where they completed their Master of Social Work (MSW) degree with a focus on Community Mental Health. More recently, Maya studied at Emory University from 2017 to 2018, earning a Master of Public Health (MPH) degree in Health Policy and Management.
