Sheila Dempsey

Sheila Dempsey is an experienced special education teacher with a diverse background in education and design. Currently serving at the NYC Department of Education since September 2013, Dempsey has also been a special education teacher with NYC Teaching Fellows and at West Hempstead Union Free School District. Prior roles in the fashion industry include positions as Associate Designer of Girls at Breaking Waves and Assistant Designer at Golden Touch, where responsibilities included developing activewear and organizing production samples. Dempsey holds a Doctor of Education degree from Concordia University-Wisconsin, a Master of Education in Special Education from LIU Brooklyn, and a Bachelor of Professional Studies in Fashion Design & Fashion Merchandising from Marist College.
