Dave Newbold has extensive experience in transport and fleet management within the public sector. Currently serving as the Transport and Fleet Manager at West Mercia Police since February 2013, Dave previously held the position of Head of Transport Services at Warwickshire Police and West Mercia Police for a brief period in February 2013. Prior to this role, Dave served as Transport Manager and Assistant Transport Manager at Staffordshire Police from January 2008 to January 2012. Earlier positions include Fleet Engineer at Telford and Wrekin Council from July 2005 to January 2008 and Commercial Vehicle Technician at Telford & Wrekin Council from July 1990 to September 2002. Educational background includes attendance at Charlton School from 1985 to 1990.

West Mercia Police is the territorial police force responsible for policing the counties of Herefordshire, Shropshire (including Telford and Wrekin) and Worcestershire in England. The force area covers 2,868 square miles (7,430 km2) making it the fourth largest police area in England and Wales. The resident population of the area is 1.2 million. Whilst much of our area is rural, the conurbations we police include Hereford, Kidderminster, Shrewsbury, Telford, Redditch and Worcester. We tailor our policing to our communities, responding to issues that affect deprived urban areas as well as rural communities.
