Joey Sutherlin

Joey Sutherlin is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in sports management, broadcasting, and aquatics education. Since April 1998, Joey has served as the Pressbox Manager and Head Official Scorer for the West Michigan Whitecaps, alongside roles as the Official Scorer. In the realm of aquatics, Joey has worked as the Aquatics Director for Kentwood Public Schools since February 2011, overseeing pool operations, staffing, and instruction in various Red Cross classes. Additionally, Joey has been the Sports Play-by-play Announcer and Owner of the Biscuit in the Basket Production since August 1999, providing athletic streaming services for East Kentwood High School and Announcing for Aquinas College events. Previous experience includes serving as the Aquatics Director, Sports Information Director, and Adjunct Professor at Grand Rapids Community College from 1997 to 2010, and as a Morning Show Producer at TV 9 & 10 News in 1996. Joey holds an Associate of Arts in Journalism from Grand Rapids Community College and a Bachelor’s degree from Central Michigan University.
