Lauren (Rooney) Duer has a diverse work experience. Lauren began their career in 2010 at Studio 22 High Tek as an Instructor, Competitive Dance Team Coach, and Receptionist. In this role, they taught dance classes to students of various ages, coached a youth dance team, and maintained communication with parents. In 2013, Lauren interned at Environment Colorado, where they conducted research, reached out to grassroots and local leaders for support, and handled media relations for climate change initiatives. Lauren also worked as a Sales Associate at J.Crew in 2014. In 2015, Lauren joined Metra Commuter Rail as a Transportation Specialist and interned in transportation. Lauren then transitioned to West Monroe, where they held various consulting roles, including Consultant, Experienced Consultant, and Senior Consultant. In April 2021, Lauren took on the role of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Lead at West Monroe. Additionally, they had a virtual internship with the U.S. Department of State as a Virtual Student Foreign Service (VSFS) eIntern, where they assisted the Green Diplomacy Initiative with social media outreach and conducted research.
Lauren (Rooney) Duer has a Master's Degree in Sustainable Urban Development from DePaul University, which was obtained between 2015 and 2016. Prior to that, they pursued a Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Political Science with a Co-Major in Sustainability and a minor in Geology at Miami University from 2010 to 2014. In their earlier years, they attended Maine South High School from 2006 to 2010. Lauren also holds a certification in the Responsible Business Leaders Program from the United Way of Metro Chicago, acquired in 2021.
