Ctrs Christy Melton

Christy Melton, CTRS, is an experienced recreation therapist with a focus on mental health clients. Currently serving at West Oaks Hospital and Voyages of Sugar Land since March 2023, Christy specializes in leisure recreational therapy and skill development to enhance mental well-being. Previously, Christy contributed as a recreation therapist at West Oaks Hospital and Oceans Behavioral Hospital, and as a Mental Health Technician III at HOUSTON METHODIST HOSPITAL, where responsibilities included data recording and patient communication. Additionally, Christy's tenure includes roles as a Psychiatric Technician III and Lead Family Based Safety Service Case Worker, emphasizing family support and community collaboration. Christy holds dual Bachelor of Science degrees in Therapeutic Recreation and Psychology from Florida International University and Prairie View A&M University, respectively.
