Matthew Cockburn

Matthew Cockburn has over 25 years of experience in transport policy and project management within various governmental organizations. Currently serving as a Project Manager at West of England Combined Authority since July 2023, Matthew focuses on Active Travel and Electric Vehicles. Prior to this role, extensive experience was gained at Bristol City Council from 2003 to 2023, including positions as Transport Development Management Coordinator and Project Manager for high-profile Innovate UK funded projects related to Connected & Autonomous Vehicle technologies. Earlier career roles include Transport Policy Officer at North Somerset Council and Transport for London, and Overhead Line Engineer at Atkins. Matthew holds a Diploma in Political Science from Sciences Po and a degree in Engineering from the University of Cambridge.
