Tim Bearden

Superintendent of Schools at West Ottawa Public Schools

Tim Bearden is currently the superintendent of schools at West Ottawa Public Schools. Prior to their current position, they served as the chief academic officer and upper school director at Detroit Country Day School from June 2012 to May 2021. Before that, they were an adjunct professor of educational leadership at Madonna University from September 2010 to May 2014, where they taught graduate level courses in the Ed. Leadership M.A. Program. Tim also served as a high school principal at Grosse Pointe Public Schools from July 2006 to June 2012, and as an assistant principal and athletic director at Grosse Pointe Public Schools from July 2001 to June 2003.

Tim Bearden has a Diversity & Inclusion Certificate Completion from Cornell University, an M.A. in Educational Leadership from Eastern Michigan University, and a B.A. in English, Theirtory, Education from University of Michigan-Flint. Tim is currently in their first year of law school at Wayne State University Law School.
