Walter V. Wendler

President at West Texas A&M University

Walter V. Wendler is the current President at West Texas A&M University. Prior to this, they retired from SIUC in December 2015 and held the title of Emeritus. From January 2008 to December 2015, they were the Director of the School of Architecture at SIUC. Prior to that, they were at Texas A&M University from September 1999 to June 2001 as the Vice Chancellor for Planning where they directed planning processes for The Texas A&M University System, The Integrative Plan.

Walter V. Wendler received a Ph.D. in Education from The University of Texas at Austin, an MArch in Architecture from University of California, Berkeley, a BED in Architecture from Texas A&M University, and an AAS in Building Construction Technology from State University of New York at Farmingdale.
