Christy Day has a diverse work experience spanning over several years. Christy started their career as the Director of Communications at the West Virginia University Alumni Association, where they focused on increasing the association's presence in southern West Virginia and managed various publications. Following this, they worked as the Director of Marketing at Charles Ryan Associates, where they developed and executed marketing strategies for the agency and its clients. Christy then joined the WV Achievement Project as a Program Director, where they successfully assisted communities and parents in increasing student achievement. Later, they served as the Director of Communications at the West Virginia Center for Professional Development, where they were responsible for communication, community outreach, and legislative affairs. Currently, they hold the position of Director of Communications at the West Virginia Department of Education, where they lead the communication initiatives and assists in developing campaigns to showcase the department's work. Christy Day has extensive experience in communication, public relations, and marketing, along with expertise in educational development and achievement.

Christy Day received their Bachelor's degree in Journalism from West Virginia University, where they studied from 1986 to 1990. Following this, they pursued a Master of Arts degree in Public Administration from West Virginia University, completing their studies from 1991 to 1993.
