Alex Wiederspiel

Alex Wiederspiel has a diverse work experience in the field of media, particularly in sports broadcasting and content creation. Starting in 2007, they worked at U92 Radio as a Sports Director, managing a team of 40+ people and broadcasting over 150 WVU sporting events. Alex also co-hosted a sports/variety talk show. From 2012 to 2015, Alex worked as a Sports Reporter/Anchor and News Reporter/Fill-in Anchor at WDTV 5 News. Alex also gained experience as an On-Air Talent at Champs Sports Network during this time. In 2015, they joined West Virginia Radio Corporation as an Afternoon News Anchor and later became the News Director for WAJR-AM. From 2016 to 2018, they worked as a Play-by-Play Commentator at Alderson Broaddus University. In 2018, they became the U92 Broadcast Adviser at West Virginia University. Alex also has experience as a Play-by-Play Commentator for wvusports.com, ESPN+, and Fairmont State University. Currently, they hold the position of Creative Content Director and Play-by-Play/Talk Show Host at WVRC Media, starting in 2022.

Alex Wiederspiel has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Regents Bachelor of Arts (RBA) from West Virginia University, which they obtained between 2007 and 2020. More recently, from 2020 to 2022, they pursued further education at West Virginia University, earning a degree in Integrated Marketing Communications (IMC).
