Brian Powell

Brian Powell is a Teaching Associate Professor in the Lane Department of Computer Science & Electrical Engineering at West Virginia University since August 2003, where responsibilities include managing a large Computer Science 101 service course and coordinating course materials. Previously, Brian served as a Teaching Assistant Professor and Adjunct Instructor in the Department of Management Information Systems, where a notable achievement was developing the online course CYBR 535: Business Network Security. Additionally, Brian owned a small business, Allegheny Geotourism, which focused on enhancing tourism through geocaching trails from July 2014 to February 2018, and worked as a Developer and Systems Administrator at In the Round Design Group prior to that. Brian holds a PhD and MS in Computer Science from West Virginia University and a BA in Computer Science from Malone University.
