Julie Lockman

Julie Lockman is a highly experienced academic and researcher currently serving as a Professor in Physiology, Pharmacology, and Toxicology at West Virginia University School of Medicine since June 2025. Since January 2014, Lockman has held multiple roles at West Virginia University, including Assistant Vice President of Graduate Education at the Health Sciences Center, Gallup-Certified Strengths Coach, and Associate Professor. Lockman teaches Medical Pharmacology to second-year medical students, focusing on topics such as Drug Discovery and Development and Clinical Pharmacology. In previous roles, Lockman has contributed to faculty affairs, investigator development, and educational management within clinical and translational research programs. Prior academic appointments included Assistant Professor of Biology at West Texas A&M University and Postdoctoral Research Associate at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center. Lockman earned a Ph.D. in Pharmaceutical Sciences from Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center and holds a B.S. in Biochemistry and Biology from West Texas A&M University.
