Derek Sloan

Derek Sloan is currently the Head Men’s Basketball Coach at West Virginia Wesleyan College, with a history of progressive coaching roles including Interim Head Coach and Assistant Coach at the same institution. Previously, Derek was an Assistant Men’s Basketball Coach at Davis and Elkins College and served as a Coach for John Lucas Basketball Resources, specializing in player development and working with high-level athletes. Additional experience includes coaching at Culver Academies, where responsibilities included film analysis and scouting report creation, and speaking at the Northern Indiana Basketball Coaches Clinic. Derek played collegiate basketball at Cleveland State University, where Derek earned a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration and Management and completed the Sports Industry Essentials Program at Columbia University.
