Steven Schneider

Steven Schneider is a seasoned professional in STEM education with extensive experience spanning over four decades. Currently serving as the Senior Director of STEM Research and Entrepreneurship at WestEd since September 1990, Steven leads a dedicated team focused on advancing STEM initiatives and talent acquisition. Previously, Steven founded the Woodside Research Consortium, where involvement centered on research and evaluation in educational and business contexts. Additionally, Steven held an instructor and supervisor role at the University of California, Santa Cruz, teaching science methods and overseeing pre-service teachers and served as the Science Department Chair at a high school, managing the science curriculum and teaching various subjects such as physics, oceanography, and biology. Steven holds a Ph.D. in Design and Evaluation of Educational Programs from Stanford University and a BA in Biological Sciences from the University of California, Berkeley.
