Tony Tucker

Tony Tucker is a seasoned research professional with extensive experience in biodiversity and conservation. Currently serving as a Senior Research Scientist at the Department of Biodiversity, Conservation and Attractions since June 2013, Tucker previously held the position of Senior Scientist at Mote Marine Laboratory & Aquarium from June 2003 to June 2013. Prior roles include Wildlife Biologist with the US Geological Survey, focused on the Invasive Brown Treesnake Project, and Senior Conservation Officer at Queensland Parks and Wildlife Service, where research centered on the cumulative effects of dams and weirs on freshwater turtles. Tucker's career began as a Technical Research Assistant at the UGA Savannah River Ecology Laboratory. Academically, Tucker holds a PhD in Zoology/Animal Biology from The University of Queensland, as well as a Master of Science in Zoology from The University of Georgia and a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Georgia Southern University.
