Curtis Beimborn

Curtis Beimborn is currently serving as an Assistant Professor of Chemistry at Western Carolina University since July 2023. Prior to this role, Curtis held several positions at JILA from May 2015 to July 2023, including Director of the JILA Keck Lab and Clean Room Facility, as well as Research Assistant, focusing on the optical properties of semiconductor nanocrystals and related materials. Curtis completed a Ph.D. in Physical Chemistry at the University of Colorado Boulder from 2014 to 2020 and also gained research experience as an Undergraduate Research Assistant at Western Carolina University, where projects included metal-enhanced fluorescence with silver nanoparticles and the development of synthetic procedures for lanthanide-based nanomaterials. Curtis holds dual Bachelor of Science degrees in Chemistry and Mathematics from Western Carolina University, earned in 2014.
