Don Black

Don Black has a diverse work experience across various industries. Don'smost recent role was as the Director of Apprenticeship, IT, & Facilities at the Western Electrical Contractors Association, where they started in September 2020. Prior to that, they served as the Director of Apprenticeship Training at the same association from February 2019 to September 2020. Don also worked as a Board Member for SkillsUSA California starting June 2016. Don briefly served as the Campus Director at MTI College from May 2018 to December 2018. Don has also held multiple roles at Universal Technical Institute, including Education & Operations Director from March 2015 to March 2018 and Education Director from May 2009 to March 2015. Don worked as a Partner at Black, Collie, Trover Consulting LLC from July 2008 to December 2015. Additionally, Don served as the CEO of DC Black LLC dba The Cleaning Authority from May 2007 to December 2012. Don has also worked at Nelnet as the Senior Vice President from November 2002 to January 2007 and at EDFUND as a Policy and Training Specialist from January 2002 to December 2002. Don's extensive work experience also includes various roles at WASFAA from 1989 to 2008.

Don Black completed their education in a chronological manner. Don attended Humboldt State University from 1985 to 1989, where they obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology. Don then pursued further education at Regis University from 2003 to 2005, earning a Master of Business Administration (MBA) with a specialization in Business.

In addition to their academic credentials, Don Black has also obtained several certifications. In September 2019, they became a Master Instructional Designer through the Association for Talent Development (ATD). Don later acquired a Change Management Certification from ATD in April 2020. In December 2020, they attained the title of Association for Talent Development (ATD) Master Instructional Designer™ from ATD CI - The ATD Certification Institute. Finally, in April 2021, they achieved the designation of Association for Talent Development (ATD) Master Trainer™, again from ATD CI. Furthermore, Don Black obtained a Teacher License in Career and Technical Education from the California Department of Education in July 2019.
