Corinne Stavness has a diverse and extensive work experience spanning multiple industries and roles. Starting in 2000, they worked as a Timber Supply Analyst at Forest Ecosystem Solutions Ltd. From there, they became a Consultant at Pöyry Management Consulting in 2002 and then moved on to work as a Consultant at the Finnish Forest Industries Federation in 2003. In 2004, they joined Forestry Innovation Investment as a Manager of Market Affairs, where they focused on strategic planning, marketing, and advocacy for British Columbia's forest products. In 2011, they joined Canfor as a Manager of Public Affairs and Corporate Communications, and later took on roles as Director of External Affairs and Communications and Senior Director of Corporate Affairs, First Nations Relationships, and External Relations. Corinne then joined the Ending Violence Association of BC in 2018 as a Prevention Services and Communications lead, where they managed and grew harassment and violence prevention programs. Most recently, in 2022, they became the Vice President of Corporate Affairs at Western Forest Products. Throughout their career, Corinne has demonstrated expertise in corporate affairs, external relations, strategic planning, and building partnerships with various stakeholders.
Corinne Stavness holds a Master's Degree in Forest Economics and Policy, which they obtained from the University of Helsinki from 2002 to 2004. Prior to that, they earned a Bachelor's Degree in Forest Management/Forest Resources Management from The University of British Columbia between 1996 and 2000. Additionally, in 2007, they obtained a certification as a Registered Professional Forester (RPF) from the Association of BC Forest Professionals.
