Mike Shewchuk

Mike Shewchuk is an experienced professional in the forest products industry, currently serving as General Manager of Manufacturing at Western Forest Products since May 2008. In this role, Mike oversees the overall operational performance of various manufacturing facilities, including multiple sawmills, with a focus on employee safety, cost management, quality, and productivity. Prior to this position, Mike held the role of Operations Manager, where responsibilities encompassed the Chemainus Sawmill complex and later the Somass Sawmill complex, managing significant workforces and ensuring profitability through effective planning and project management. Mike's career in the industry began at Weyerhaeuser and MacMillan Bloedel from June 1996 to May 2007, contributing as both a Production Supervisor and Quality Control Supervisor. Mike holds an AST degree in Wood Products Manufacturing from the British Columbia Institute of Technology, obtained between 1989 and 1991.
