Cindy Shackelford

Cindy Shackelford, Ph.D., Ed.D., serves as the Department Chair and Coordinator for the CHD/ECE/ELE Program at Jefferson State Community College since August 2019. Additionally, Cindy holds the position of Curriculum and Instruction K-12 Professor at Western Governors University and is actively involved with the Alabama Department of Education's Education and Training Course of Study Task Force and the Alabama School Readiness Alliance Board of Directors. Cindy also contributes as a Higher Ed Peer Reviewer for the National Association for the Education of Young Children, is a member of the Steering Committee for VOICES FOR ALABAMA'S CHILDREN, and serves as a Professional Development Specialist for The Council for Professional Recognition. Furthermore, Cindy operates as an Education Consultant and Content Creator through Empowering Educators Professional Development Institute, and has a teaching role at Rasmussen University. Cindy's academic qualifications include a Doctor of Education in Curriculum and Instruction and a Doctor of Philosophy in Early Childhood Education, alongside multiple other degrees from Liberty University and the University of Alabama at Birmingham.
