Guiyou Huang

President at Western Illinois University

Guiyou Huang has been a President at Western Illinois University since December 2020. Prior to that, they were President at Edinboro University of Pennsylvania from July 2019 to December 2020. From January 2017 to June 2019, they were Chancellor at Louisiana State University-Alexandria. From July 2010 to December 2016, they were Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs & Dean of the Faculty & Professor of English at Norwich University. From July 2005 to June 2010, they were Dean of Biscayne College of Liberal Arts & Dean of Undergraduate Studies & Programs at St. Thomas University (FL). From July 2004 to June 2005, they were Director, The Honors College & Professor of English at Grand Valley State University. Guiyou was an Adjunct Professor at Lehigh University from January 2000 to May 2000. From July 1995 to June 2004, they were Professor, Director, & Chair at Kutztown University.

Guiyou Huang received their Ph.D. in American literature from Texas A&M University, and they also hold graduate degrees from Harvard University in MLE 2009; IEM 2012; New Presidents Seminar 2017, and Peking University in British literature. Guiyou completed their undergraduate studies in English at Qufu Normal University.
