Tom Syer

Tom Syer has over 20 years of experience in the energy and resource sector, beginning their career in 2001 as Deputy Chief of Staff, Issues Management and Policy and Chief of Staff, Ministry of Sustainable Resource Management for the Government of British Columbia. In 2007, they moved to Alterra Power Corp. as Director, First Nation and Corporate Relations. From 2012 to 2015, they held the position of Vice President, Policy and Communications at the Business Council of British Columbia. Tom then joined Teck Resources Limited as Head of Government Affairs and Director, Government and Indigenous Affairs. In 2020, Tom moved to TC Energy as Vice President, Stakeholder Relations - Coastal GasLink. Most recently, they are Vice President, Climate Policy and External Affairs at Western LNG LLC.

Tom Syer completed their MA and BBA in Public Policy from Simon Fraser University from 1990 to 1997. Prior to this, they attended Capilano College and Okanagan College from 1988 to 1990.
