Director, Spatial Data & Documentation Control at Western Midstream Partners

Ted Tomes, PMP has extensive experience in the field of spatial data and analytics. Ted began their career at Gulfstream Resources in 1998 as an ITS Manager, where they managed information technology systems. In 2001, they joined Anadarko Canada Corporation as an ITS Business Area Coordinator, overseeing IT operations for the company. Ted then moved to Anadarko Petroleum Corporation in 2006, where they held various roles including Senior Staff ITS Project Manager and ITS Manager - Operations Systems. In these positions, they successfully delivered enterprise projects and optimized processes for drilling, operations, and regulatory functions. In 2014, Ted became the Director of Spatial Data & Aerial (sUAS) Analytics, leading the design and development of systems for data acquisition and maintenance. Ted also established strategies for driving team success and measuring key objectives. Continuing their career in the energy industry, Ted joined Oxy in 2019 as the Director of Spatial Data & Analytics (Midstream). In this role, they streamlined data processes, developed strategies for effective analysis and reporting, and defined company-wide standards and metrics. Currently, Ted works as the Director of Spatial Data & Documentation Control at Western Midstream, where they oversee the management of spatial data and documentation.

Ted Tomes, PMP has a Bachelor of Technology (BTech) degree from the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology (SAIT). Ted also holds an Associate's degree in Computer Engineering from SAIT. Additionally, Ted has studied English/Pre-Law at The University of Lethbridge. In terms of certifications, they have obtained a Remote Pilot - sUAS certification from the FAA in October 2016 and a Project Management Professional (PMP) certification from the Project Management Institute in December 2010.
